Sunday

Started as a typical Sunday. Woke up at 9:30, called Mike, who said he and Tiffany were still figuring out what we were going to do today, and that he'd call me back when they'd figured it out. No problem. He usually calls back in 30-60 minutes, so I cut my hair and take a shower, but when I get out, still no call, so I get on the net and browse the forums for a bit, then play Untold Legends for a couple hours. Mike finally calls back at 11:30 and wants to know what time Sin City and The Interpreter are playing at the movies. I told him I'd already seen Sin City, and didn't think it was all that great. The Interpreter was playing at 1:10, so he says ok, and says they have just a bit of getting ready to do, and then they'll be on their way. Nearly an hour later I call back, and he picks up the phone and lets me know they're on the way. Later I find out from his g/f that they'd been arguing because Mike wanted to walk around the mall for a while before the movie, but she didn't, because none of us actually ever ends up buying anything. Besides that, there wouldn't have been time to walk around the mall and eat before going to the movie. None of that matters now of course, because the 1:10 showing has nearly started, so we opt for the 2:00 showing instead, and go eat Chipotle. Well, Tiffany and I ate Chipotle, and Mike went and bought Wendy's, which is when Tiffany told me about their argument. I don't know how those two have managed to stay together the last 2.5 years. I'm not even quite sure if they're both in love with each other.

Dennis is gone for a week. He got a new job as a store manager of Factory To You. They flew him to Los Angeles for a week for a sort of on-the-job training in their largest store. We're planning on investing in some stock when he gets back, along with a few friends. Our old store manager from JCP already more than doubled the money he's put in in a matter of weeks. If the trend continues, I might be able to get my car sooner than I thought. If not, I'll only be down $2000 at most, which is pretty unlikely to happen.

Stefanie called me tonight. It's the first time I've talked to her since getting my new job. She left me a guilt-trip voice mail which I fully deserve. I called her back, and she gave me some more shit about not calling her, so after apologizing a number of times, and talking with her a bit, I walked over to her apartment to hang out for a while. She insisted on feeding me, claiming that I looked anorexic. We talked and watched TV for a couple hours until her friend called. They were going to the gym to work out, so she she drove me the 100ft or so to my apartment. I guess that way I wouldn't be able to exercise off the food she made for me =P. She yelled at me some more about not calling her, and I promised I would, and she drove off. I really do have some communications problems. Who goes a month and a half without talking to their friends? Especially when they live practically next door? Hell, I went for a year and a half without talking to my friend Ron. It's not like I never think of calling them, I just never actually do it.

Pictures and electronic music

Well, I finally started working on the floor this week during 3rd shift, so it's back to sleeping in the afternoon again, which I prefer so much more than sleeping at night. Besides, I'm making my shift pay now =D. Since last week was the last week of training, we took class pictures, which I've uploaded, and posted below. Pretty much everyone in the class was pretty cool.

Anyways, last weekend I went two a couple of Rave's. Neither was quite what I was expecting. I'd never been to one before, and I was expecting something much larger as far as the number of people that showed up. The one on Friday night was pretty pathetic, with a whole 50-60 people there, including staff. It was held in an empty, but not abandoned, warehouse the sponsors had rented out. There were two turntable setups, one on each end of the warehouse. Throughout the four or so hours I was there, one of the "stations" blew the fuses for that side of the warehouse what seems like seven or eight times. Considering no one was really dancing anyways, and the music wasn't what I would call "great", no one was particularly mad (except maybe the DJ's), and I thought it was quite funny. Usually people get pretty pissed off if a record so much as skips a beat, let alone goes dead altogether. I had fun hanging out with my friend Ron and his new g/f anyways though. Also met a friend of Ron's who does some light DJ'ing as well. Got a free CD from him which mostly had trance on it, which is cool, cause that's what I like listening to most (out of all the electronic sub-genres anyways). Pretty decent CD. Liked all but one track.

Saturday night was much larger, this time with 150-200 people, give or take any given amount, since I really have no idea. The music was quite a bit better though, as was the location. This time it was in a club called The Starlight Lounge, which was smaller than the warehouse, probably about half the size actually, so with four times as many people (or more) it was packed pretty tight. Since this was a much more professional setup, there were plenty of lights, etc to make things look cool. Tons of good looking women there, most in considerably revealing clothes like mini-skirts, etc, so that was definitely a plus. Of course there were plenty of not-so-good-looking women as well. One of which came up to me and saw I wasn't dancing, so as usual, she felt obligated to tell me to lighten up. I responded with a smile, and a simple "No". People at clubs don't seem to understand that it's possible to have fun without dancing, drinking, and drugs.....quite odd how those all begin with "D". Anyways, I go to clubs purely to hang out with friends and listen to music I'm not going to hear on the radio. If everyone else wants to do all the rest, then great, it certainly provides an entertaining atmosphere, but it's just not for me.

Back on the bottle

Well, I guess I'm officially back on caffeine again. I was off for just over six months, which is pretty damn significant for me, since I used to drink soda like some folks breath air. Ever since this new job though, I've started drinking it again. I can't handle only having six hours of sleep and then sitting down for 8 hours without nodding off it seems. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted. Feels good to be able to drink Mountain Dew again though, or as Adam Corrola calls it, "The Nectar of the Tards" =P.

Been thinking a lot about my saving for a new car. August seems such a long ways off, especially now that I've narrowed it down to probably getting a Nissan 200SX SE-R. There are two of them on AutoTrader.com in less than 25 miles of me, both in good-to-excellent condition from what I can tell by the photos. It's got 140HP, and one of them has a turbo, performance exhaust, and a bunch of other performance parts on it. I'd like to get that one, only I don't want it to sound like a damn lawnmower, so I'd probably have to replace the exhaust. The other one just has some performance tires on it I think, but it has double the miles, and only costs a few hundred less. Both cars are around $4,000, give or take a couple hundred. Insurance will only be around $140 a month, but I plan on paying it in a lump sum every six months, as it's cheaper by about $150 that way. Now I just have to wait for 4-5 months for the money to be saved up =/. Ah well, so far time at the new job has flown by, and hopefully it'll continue that way.
